Today the City of Anaheim, home to Disneyland and California Adventure, shared some great news! COVID-19 cases have been rapidly decreasing and the amount of people who have becomes vaccinated are increasing. This means Orange County has finally met the criteria into the yellow tier, which is the least restrictive tier!
With new state data out today, Orange County has logged one week of meeting the criteria for yellow Tier 4, the least restrictive in the state’s reopening framework.
If trends hold, we could see the county move to the yellow tier by the end of the month. pic.twitter.com/naOmGCfVOD

The City of Anaheim also posted these details to their Facebook today:
With new state data out today, Orange County now meets criteria for yellow Tier 4, the least restrictive in the state’s reopening framework.
Our current positivity rate is 1 percent, the average daily case rate is 1.8 and the health equity positivity rate is 1.4 percent.
If trends hold, we could see the county move to the yellow tier by around May 19.
Some key changes for the yellow tier:
*Bars: indoors at 25% capacity
*Indoor live events, Honda Center: 10% capacity, or 50% if all guests show a negative test result or proof of vaccination
*Angels Baseball: 67% capacity
*Disneyland theme parks: 35% capacity, indoor dining at 50%
This is great progress in our continuing effort to fight COVID, and reflects the effectiveness of vaccines in our community.
It also moves us further ahead in reopening, as we head toward June 15, when we’ll be able to largely return to normal with masks, testing and vaccines thanks to the state’s Beyond the Blueprint plan.
Orange County needs to continue to meet the yellow tier requirements for the next two weeks before being able to officially move into this tier. Once the county moves into the next tier, Disneyland can up their capacity to 35% which means we may see Disneyland posting more reservation availability starting the month of June!
As we prepared for this phased reopening, we made updates based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and appropriate government agencies.
While it may be different from the last time you visited, together we can find new ways to create magical moments—and memories to treasure.
It is exciting that Orange County is headed into the last tier and the county is well on its way to all restrictions being lifted!
