Manasquan, the No. 2 team in the NJ.com Top 20, rolled to a 65-36 win over Jefferson in the Group 2 championship game at RWJ Barnabas Health Arena on Sunday in Toms River.
It is Manasquan’s first group championship since 2018 and the program’s eighth overall.
Here are the stars from the game:
Mary Elizabeth Donnelly, Sr.: Donnelly was her usual consistent self against Jefferson, scoring 12 points and playing tough defense.
Brooke Hollawell, Manasquan, Sr.: Hollawell continued her impressive senior season by scoring 10 points in the win over Jefferson.
Dorothy Loffredo, Manasquan, Sr.: Loffredo chipped in with nine points for Manasquan, and was a key player in her team’s second-half burst that overcame Jefferson.
Hope Masonius, Manasquan, So.: Masonius scored a game-high 16 points, leading Manasquan to the championship.
Amanda Nwankwo, Jefferson, Jr.: Nwankwo was a force inside for Jefferson, scoring a team-high 12 points in the losing effort.
