Air Force officially opens the 2021 season facing CSU Bakersfield, William & Mary and Northern Illinois at the NIU Invitational in DeKalb, Ill., on Aug. 27-28, although the Falcons will host Nebraska-Kearney in an exhibition match at the Academy on Aug. 21. Air Force will then travel to Spokane, Wash., to take on Seattle, Oklahoma and Gonzaga at the Gonzaga Invitational on Sept. 3-4, before returning to Colorado to play the remainder of its non-conference schedule in the Centennial State.
Co-hosting the Thin Air Challenge with Denver on Sept. 9-11, Air Force will face the Pioneers in Denver on Sept. 9, before hosting Idaho (Sept. 10) and Cal State Fullerton (Sept. 11) at the Academy. The Falcons will close out their non-conference lineup on Sept. 17-18, when they host Iowa and Incarnate Word during the Mile High Invitational at Cadet East Gym.
The Falcons, who went 7-6 in conference action during a MW-only schedule in the spring, open the 2021 Mountain West season on Sept. 21, when they travel to Albuquerque for a mid-week match at New Mexico. Air Force will host Fresno State at the Academy on Sept. 25, before beginning traditional weekend series with a road trip to UNLV (Sept. 30) and San Diego State (Oct. 2). The Falcons will continue their home-and-home schedule with Boise State (home: Oct. 7, road: Nov. 6), Utah State (home: Oct. 9, road: Nov. 4), Wyoming (road: Oct. 14, home: Oct. 16) and Colorado State (road: Oct. 16, home: Oct. 28), while facing Nevada (home, Oct. 21) and San Jose State (road: Oct. 23) just once. Air Force will host San Diego State (Nov. 11), UNLV (Nov. 13) and New Mexico (Nov. 16), before closing out the regular season with a road match at Fresno State on Nov. 18.
The Mountain West Volleyball Tournament is returning to the conference calendar after a 10-year absence and will be held in Las Vegas on Nov. 24-26.
